Winning a Wimbledon trophy is a major accomplishment for any player, but winning one with a sibling is a rarity in the record books. John and his sister Tracy were the first brother/sister team in history to win Wimbledon Mixed doubles in 1980.

There is no question that he was born with tennis in his DNA. As part of a family of five siblings (four played at Wimbledon) he competed on the ATP tour for six years and achieved a top 40 world ranking. Among John’s wins were victories over #1-ranked John McEnroe, French Open champ Yannick Noah, Andres Gomes, Wojtek Fibak, and twins Tim & Tom Gullikson. He was also selected three times as an alternate for the US Davis Cup team.

Prior to entering the professional ranks, John was a member of the victorious 1976 UCLA NCAA championship team and a 1978 NCAA doubles champion.Since retiring from the tour, he has been directing programs at some of the finest tennis facilities in the country. He also has a passion for teaching tennis and loves coaching kids and adults from beginners to tour level players. John has worked with such professionals as Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Jim Grabb, and Amy Frazier to name a few.
